Day #60 Leap Day

A day full of firsts....

Today is leap day!

I woke up to Sawyer babbling away in his bassinet next to my bed.  I looked down at him and he stopped, looked at me, smiled and then reached for me with BOTH arms!!  That completely made my morning on this rainy, dreary day!!  It was the first time that he has done that, and unfortunately the only time he did it today, so I couldn't get a picture of it.

The other first big thing that he did today was that I got him down to sleep before midnight!!  He went down to sleep, in his bassinet at 9:00 tonight!  That is BIG.  Usually he doesn't go down to sleep until at least midnight.  He may snooze in his swing, but never down asleep in his bassinet.  He fell asleep on his own too.  I didn't have to put him in the swing first, or nurse him to sleep.  He actually comforted himself by sucking on his little snuggle doggie.

He still won't take a binky.... but hey whatever works!

We ordered another duplicate of his snuggle doggie, since he loves it so much!

Day #59

What a long day.....

We had a fun day!  We met with our friend Kim and baby Morgan for lunch.  We did a little running around, picked up his brother and sister from school, and then took Marshall to his gym class.

And as you can see.... Sawyer is pooped out!  Hopefully he will sleep through the night tonight.

My first teether....

Sawyer is starting to cut a tooth, so we broke out the frozen teether.

He tried with everything he had to grab it, but it was a little slippery.

He's got it....

and now he doesn't!!  

Poor kid.  He'll get there.  He just needs more practice.  LOL

Day #56

The Hat Club....

Jaylee had the idea for everyone to wear their hats today.  I am so lucky to have these 3 amazing kids in my life.  I am sure that they will grow to be happy, good people.  We need more happy people in this world.  Happy people, make good people.  Good people, make the world a better place.

Sleeping Drooly.....

Why is it that a sleeping drooling baby is the cutest thing on the planet?  We as adults aren't considered cute if we drool in our sleep!!

Day #54

Please don't get sick....

Today has been a very rough day.  Me and the other 2 kids have been extremly sick with a nasty stomach virus.  So far Russ and Sawyer have been healthy.  Let's hope and pray that Baby Sawyer doesn't get this nasty sickness.  As you can see, so far he is happy and healthy!  Let's hope it stays that way.

Day #53

My Rainbow Baby....

Sawyer is what some people call a rainbow baby.  A rainbow baby is a baby that is born after a miscarriage.  Marshall is also a rainbow baby.  All 3 of my children are my little rays of sunshine, but there is something about Sawyer that draws people in.  He is always smiling.  He was the light at the end of the tunnel for me.  I took the last miscarriage very hard, and he taught me that everything happens for a reason.  He is amazing and I am in absolute baby love with this child.

Day #52

On the road again....

Sawyer and I have to be on the road a lot during the week.  He doesn't seem to mind much.  As long as he isn't hungry!!  Today we had to run to the post office, Marshall's school, Jaylee's school and then to Marshall's class at The Little Gym.  I am so lucky that he is such a laid back little man....

Day #51

What a big boy!

We broke out the exersaucer last night for Sawyer and he did really well in it.  He couldn't spin around, but he held himself up really well in it.  

Shortly after I took this picture I noticed all of these huge welts and hives on the back of his head.  They popped up about an hour after I fed him his second meal of sweet peas.  So after a trip to the pediatrician we found that he had a bit of an allergic reaction.  After the hives disappear, then we will try a different type of vegetable and see how he does.

Day #50

It's time for baby food!

He was so ready for for solids!  He tried to eat the whole spoon!

It was so cute because you could tell he liked it, but he made the most awful face and then smiled.  I'm guessing it was because of the texture.

We started with peas.

This picture came out so blurry, but it's so cute how you can see his little tongue sticking out.

The aftermath!!  He really didn't spit too much back out.  We started with 1/4 jar of baby food to see how his belly handled it.  I even gave him some water to drink and he liked it.  

I'm waiting for the baby bullet to arrive because I plan on making my own baby food.

It's hard to believe that he is reaching this point already.  It's going by way too fast.

Look I have feet!!

Sawyer has been trying to get his feet for weeks!  He finally got ahold of one today... but he got frustrated when he couldn't get it into his mouth!

My Boys.....

What is cuter then dressing up the boys in the same outfit!!  Today is Marshall's 4th birthday so I thought it would be the perfect occasion.  Sawyer looks up to his big brother so much already.  Whenever Marshall comes in the room Sawyer just watches him and smiles.  I can't wait until they can actually start playing together!

Day #45

My First Valentine's Day....

Today is Sawyer's first Valentine's Day.  The poor little guy is sick with his first cold, but he is still all smiles.  I hope that everyone else is as loved as I am on this wonderful day.  There is no better love then the love of your family.  Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

Day #44

Someone is about to get slurped....

Sawyer went to see Dr. Schultz today for his 4 month check up.  He had to get 2 shots.... Boo hiss!!

But on a more positive note, he is growing.  Here are his stats....

14 pounds and 25 inches long!!  He has grown so much!

So this week we get to start solids!  So exciting....

Baby has his very first cold....

Sawyer has his very first cold.  So far he has a very mild version of what Marshall and I had.  He keeps sneezing and coughing....  Poor guy.  He is still pretty much a happy baby through it all though.

There really isn't a cute story to go with this photo.  The picture speaks for itself.  He is absolutely amazing and I am incredibly lucky to have this person in my life.  He will do good things in this world, I am sure of it.

Bubble head....

Everyone got a bath tonight.  Sawyer had fun watching the kids in their bubble bath, so we decided to bring up Sawyer's bath tub so that he could join the fun.  He's been a pretty fussy baby over the past few days so I'm hoping this will calm him down.

The Pouty Lip....

I've been trying to catch this face for a long time!!  Whenever Sawyer gets upset about something he sticks out his bottom lip and makes a pouty face.  He doesn't stick it out just a little bit, he really sticks it out there far.  Even though it is so sad, it is soooo cute!!

Day #38

This is the classic Sawyer face that he always makes.  I LOVE this face that he makes!  I noticed yesterday that he has really found his voice.  He has learned that he can make all of his sounds even louder....  It's really cute to hear him make loud squeals and laughs.

I see myself....

Sawyer was so cute this morning watching his reflection in his little mirror and smiling.  He was grabbing at the mirror, laughing and jabbering away!

4 Months Old!

Today Sawyer is officially 4 months old!  I asked Jaylee to go pick out a cute outfit to take Sawyer's picture this morning and she came down with this caterpillar costume.  It was Marshall's when he was a baby... I am so glad that I saved it.  Like I said before, there is nothing like dressing a poor innocent baby up like some sort of animal or bug!

Day #35

He loves his snuggle doggie.....

Sawyer has grown to really like his snuggle doggie blankie.  He grabs it, hugs it, chews on it and throws it around.  I may need to find another one in case this one gets lost!

Day #34

Look who is starting to sit up!!

I propped Sawyer up on some pillows on my bed this morning and he sat up!

So I put him on the floor with the boppy pillow to see if he would do it again.

In the top picture he is sitting up a little, but still leaning back.

And here he is when he sat forward.

Marshall and I were laughing because he was bobbing all around.  

He fell forward and to the side, but I kept putting him back into a sitting position and he actually held it for a couple of minutes, but then.....

he fell down to the side again.

He is trying.  He is becoming so nosey.  When I am feeding him, he will stop eating and look around.  When he wants to eat in the middle of the night I usually play on my phone, but now he keeps turning his head to the side to see what is going on.  I think that's why he wants to sit up so soon, so he can see the stuff around him better!

Day #33

I notice...

I got very lucky getting this shot.  I was trying to get a picture of Sawyer watching our other cat, but the cat kept moving and it just wasn't working.  Then I noticed our other kitty "Stinky" sitting in the back round looking out of the window.  Sawyer is starting to notice our other "furry" family members.  The kitties come up to him and sniff his nose and Sawyer smiles.  The dogs come up and slurp him and Sawyer laughs!  Our pets are well aware that babies can grab and pull, so they know to keep a safe distance!  But they still come up to him to say hello every now and then.  Sawyer is starting to act a little more curious about the things around him.

Day #32

Sleepy Boy....

Today is Russ's birthday, and Russ wanted pot roast for dinner tonight.  We are both doing weight watchers and trying to get back into shape, so no more going out to eat for birthday dinners!  I fed Sawyer this morning and then laid him down on his play mat, so that he could entertain himself while I got everything into the crock pot.  I heard him playing and laughing, then it got very quiet......

I peaked around the corner and he was fast asleep on his play mat.  He was snoring and everything!!
