Starting on January 1, 2012 I will be taking a photograph of my son Sawyer everyday for a full 365 days plus 1 extra day...it's a leap year. I am so excited to do this photo project and to document the first year of his life on a day to day basis. It is going to be amazing to watch him change day to day over the span of a year.

Day #297
We have a cold....
Sawyer and I have been fighting a cold since the beginning of the week. Yesterday and today have been the worst so far. We both have fevers, runny noses and a cough. Sawyer hasn't wanted to eat much, except for crackers.... He did eat good tonight when I served my home made chicken noodle soup! Hopefully we all get better before we leave for vacation!

Too cool for school...
My friend Alicia got Sawyer this outfit for his birthday and he looked so adorable!!
He looked like such a little man with his bomber vest on!!
He is really mastering his walking skills and he is getting braver. He rounds corners and his balance is a little better.
I can't believe he is walking! This last year with him has just flown by....

Day #292
Why do our Mommies Do This To us???
Kim and I dressed the babies up in their Halloween costumes and decided to get a few pictures.
Morgan didn't seem to care, but Sawyer was clearly un-impressed with the whole situation!
He had this look like "Really Mom, are you serious right now"
It was cute though dressing Morgan up like a butterfly and Sawyer up like a caterpillar.
They played so good together today. There were a few tug of wars over a toy or two, and a collision here and there. But they really do well together. It's so nice to see them growing up together!

Day #291
A Trip to The Pumpkin Patch....
Sawyer kept pointing at all of the pumpkins.
Last year when we went to the pumpkin patch he was just a couple of weeks old.
He was trying his best to walk, but the ground was so uneven and he kept getting frustrated.
He did pretty good holding my hand and walking around though.
After the pumpkin patch we headed over to the apple orchards to do some apple picking.
Marshall found him this tiny little apple.
It was a busy day and by the end he was pooped out!

Mommy and Daddy left for the weekend...
Russ and I left last night for D.C. for the weekend and I left cousin Amara in charge of taking Sawyer's pictures of the day for me. She did an awesome job!
She captured the typical Sawyer cheese ball face!
And this one is my favorite picture that she took. Isn't it great!!

Sawyer's Birthday Party
Sawyer's 1st Birthday party went so well!
He was so funny.
We stripped him down and put him in his highchair.
When we started singing he looked at us all like we were crazy!
We set the cake in front of him and he wanted nothing to do with it!
I even put some frosting in his mouth and he just wouldn't have it!!
It was such a fun day. Our family and friends came over and celebrated with us.
It was a perfect day!

Day #276
Happy Birthday Sawyer!!
Today was the big day.
Sawyer is officially ONE year old!
I actually got a picture of him standing on his own.
Great Grandma Bigsby gave Sawyer his present a little early, and he wasn't quite sure what to do at first. Once we got him started he was more interested in the tissue paper then his present.
We all went out to dinner when Russ got home from work and they brought Sawyer out a piece of birthday cake and we sang to him. He looked at us like we were crazy!
He liked the cake though that's for sure!
Tomorrow is party day!

Day #275
Sawyer's last day of being a baby...
Family was pouring in today to celebrate Sawyer's 1st birthday with us this weekend.
Tomorrow is his birthday and today I couldn't help but think how much I will miss babyhood.
With my first baby I couldn't wait until she hit her milestones, and I always was extra proud when she did them ahead of schedule.
With the second baby it was the same way, but I was much more relaxed about stuff.
With my third I try to stop time and hold onto every single moment....
We are 99.9% sure that this is the last baby, so it makes it even harder to see these moments pass by.
These are moments that will never come back.
He still doesn't sleep through the night.
He is yet to sleep in his crib.
He's not walking yet.
And he still nurses from me.
But that's all ok.
There is plenty of time to get those things down pat.
After everything we have been through after the miscarriage, and then with his "ticks"
It's all ok. He's happy and healthy, and he just needs me a little bit more then the other two kids did.
I have two other children to care for, so Sawyer always has to wait for his needs to be met. So I think that's part of the reason he's a little extra needy sometimes.
I can deal with that....
Grammy gave Sawyer his birthday present early, and he LOVED it!!
Great Grandpa Bigsby walked in the door and Sawyer crawled right over to him and reached for him.
Sawyer hasn't seem him in a few months. It was the most adorable thing, and it made my Grandpa so happy.
I am so excited to spend this special day with my family.
Don't get me wrong I am excited to see Sawyer move onto the next levels, but I will continue to treasure each and every single moment, and when I look back I will realize that I never took anything for granted.
