Day #179

Waiting for Grammy and Grandpa!

Tomorrow is Sawyer's big day.  We are having his baby blessing at our house.  Grammy and Grandpa are coming into town.  

I couldn't decide which picture to use, so I used them both!!

Today Sawyer started signing back to me!

I've been signing things like milk, more, eat, drink and all done for a few months.

He saw me eating and he started signing more.  It was so cute!

Instead of touching his fingers from both hands together he was touching his fingers to his wrist.

Then he also signed milk for me!

He continues to amaze me everyday!

Day #178

Look at me Mom...

I was folding laundry and I see Sawyer pull himself up to his feet on the laundry basket.  At one point he was just holding on with one hand!  He's traveling across furniture and everything already!  The only thing he can't figure out is how to get back down on his bum!!

I know the picture quality is crappy, but all I had nearby was my cell phone!

Day #177

On the move....

Everyday he picks up speed!

He is on the move and he loves it!!

And the fun begins!!!

Today was the first day that Sawyer was trying to get into everything and anything!!

He was opening cabinets, and pulling out drawers!

Oh and then he discovered the dogs water bowl!

He crawls funny on the hard floors.  He has one knee down and he places his other foot down on the floor.  He's starting to crawl faster!!

I think it's time to put the baby locks on EVERYTHING!

Sawyer's first trip to the amusement park...

The kids and I joined our friends and took a road trip to Delgrosso Park in P.A.

Sawyer did such a wonderful job, he was so good!

He had his first ride on the carousel and he rode on a choo choo train!

Last but not least we played in the splash park.  It was a perfect day!!

Sawyer's girlfriend Kennedy was there for him to play with too.

They snoozed in their strollers together!!

Day #174

Helllooo.... is anyone out there?

Well every time that Sawyer fusses and I'm not in sight he cries and says "Mum mum mum ma ma ma"

Day #173

We are making progress,

I think.....

The last two nights Sawyer has slept better at night.  He got up twice the past two nights, once around 12:30 and again around 4:30.  This is much better then every two hours!!!  He's now sleeping in the pack and play (instead of the bassinet).  He's not sleeping in his crib yet, but it's a start!  Tonight I laid him down awake and he rolled onto his belly and fell right asleep!!!!  Let's hope that it continues.  Once he starts sleeping through the night we can try moving him to his bedroom, in his crib.  Our bedroom is downstairs and his is upstairs, so there is no way I plan on running up and down stairs multiple times a night!!!  Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that his sleeping habits keep getting better!

"I don't wanna work, I just wanna bang on

the drum all day"....

Sawyer discovered Marshall's old baby drum today and he loved it!!

It didn't take him long to figure it out.

He was bopping to the music and singing "aaaahhhh" it was so stinkin' cute!!

He's getting braver with his crawling.  He actually ventured out off of the carpet into the dining room on the hard wood floors.

Day #171

 Hanging out at home....

It was a very hot and humid day today so we stayed in for the most part.  I caught up on laundry and cleaning and the kids just played and did their thing.

Sawyer is loving this crawling around thing!  He crawls all over the living room now.  He's starting to venture off of the carpet onto the hard wood floor, but not so often.

He found his little toy basket and he loved taking the toys out and seeing what all was in there.

Before I know it he will be running around!!

The kids still get a kick out of Sawyer crawling around.  They think it's all cute and funny now, it should be interesting when he's up running around and getting into all of their stuff!

Day #170

Cooling off on a hot day...

I filled up the bigger pool for Jaylee and Marshall, so it was only fair that I pulled out the baby pool for Sawyer.  He doesn't have a bathing suit yet, so we went in skinny dipping!!

He loved it.  I threw in some measuring cups for him to play with and he loved filling them up and dumping them out.  

He was too cute.  Well, he's always too cute.  :)

Day #169

Watch out, he's on the move!!

Well Sawyer is offically crawling!

Not just army crawling, but REALLY crawling!!

He is not only crawling, but he pulled himself up on his feet already!!

He crawled right over to the couch and pulled himself up on his feet!

So the baby gates are definitely going up now!!

He's on the move and he is loving it!

Kayleigh thought it would be funny to text me this picture of Sawyer taking a swig out of a red bull!!  Looks convincing huh?  Don't worry she didn't actually give him a taste of Red Bull.  The can wasn't open!  Can you imagine??  This kid doesn't sleep at night as it is!!

Hanging out with Kayleigh...

Our friend Kayleigh babysits for us quite a bit.  She has watched all of our kiddos since they were babies.  She is so great with them, and she loves them like her own.  She stayed right at our house for us and took care of the kids and animals for us.  The kids love her so much and they love spending time with her.  We are so lucky to have her help with them.

Hanging out in his play pen...

I'm trying to get Sawyer used to hanging out in his play pen.  He's starting to become mobile now and I don't always have time to watch his every move.  This way he will have a safe zone to play and not get hurt.  So far he doesn't seem to mind it.  Here he is playing with his Elmo phone.  This toy used to be Jaylee and Marshall's when they were babies.

Sleepy boy...

Sawyer fell asleep on my lap tonight.  I really don't want to move him.  We are leaving in the morning for another weekend get away.  It's so hard leaving the kids, especially when they are babies.  I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts, before I know it he won't want to be in my lap anymore.  They grow and change so fast....

Little baby with a great big ball...

Sawyer crawled last night for the first time!!  He was army crawling, but he made it across the living room floor.  He was chasing after a ball.  Not this great BIG ball, but a regular ball.  He was determined to get it and he did!

Marshall gave Sawyer this BIG ball to play with, it is just about as big as he is!

On our way back home....

We headed back to Virginia today.  We stopped for dinner in PA at the Macaroni Grill.  That's where I snapped this picture on my cell phone.  My camera batteries died on me.

Sawyer was so funny.  When we got home and I set him down on the bed he got so excited.  He started kicking his legs around and laughing.  I think he was happy to be home!!

It's always good to get back home.  :)

Mommy's back!

I missed my kiddos terrible!  But I must admit that we had sooooo much fun!!  I really needed a little mini vacation away from the kids.  As much as I love them, I needed a break and a FULL NIGHTS SLEEP!  Sleeping in was the best ever!  Sawyer was so excited to see us.  He kicked his legs around and laughed.  It was so cute.  Poor Mom looked so tired, but she loved all of the one on one time with all of them.

By the way Sawyer's shirt says

"Who's boobs do I need to suck on to get a drink around here"

Cousins...

My Mom was happy to take Sawyer's picture of the day for me while we were gone.

Mom said that he only got up twice in the night last night, so I guess he's just a bad sleeper for me!!

My Mom and Aunt Karen took their Grand kids to the play house to spend some time together.

Jaylee, Marshall and Sawyer got to play with their cousins Cadence and Brayden.

From what I heard they had loads of fun!!

At Grammy and Grandpa's house....

Sawyer did an amazing job making the 6 hour long drive to my parents house in New York.

Russ and I are going to a Dave Matthews concert with some friends and are spending the weekend in Saratoga.  It will be the first time that I leave Sawyer over night.....

Not only for one night, but for two nights.....

He's about to get spoiled!!!

Day #156

Getting ready....

I am so slacking with the pictures!  I was too lazy to get my big camera, and I just took a picture on my I Phone.  Things were hectic around here today because we are packing for our trip to New York tomorrow!  Russ and I are going to Saratoga for the weekend with friends and the kids will be staying with their Grammy and Grandpa.  I am already tearing up thinking about leaving Sawyer overnight for the first time.  I think it's extra hard because of what's been going on with him, but our pediatrician assured me that it would be fine.  

On a more exciting note Sawyer sat up on his own today for the very first time!!  I laid him on the floor on his tummy with some toys while I mopped the basement floor.  I checked around the corner and he was sitting up!!!  Jaylee and Marshall were outside playing so I know it wasn't them.

He still looks very tired, but otherwise he seems to be just fine.

Day #155

Happy Birthday Sawyer!

8 Months Old

I cannot even believe that he is 8 months old already!!  It is just flying by.

He is ahead developmentally.  He is starting to wave, and he is doing a great job picking up objects between his fore finger and thumb.  He's cooing more then ever.  He's not crawling yet, but he gets on his hands and knees and lunges forward.  He will army crawl a little, and roll to where he wants to go.

If he's sitting on the bed or something cushiony he can sit up from a laying down position.

He is still having his jerky body movements though out the day.  We went for a follow up to see Dr Lyon's the pediatric neurologist.  Sawyer's lactic acid blood test came back pretty high so they are referring us to a genetic specialist doctor at Children's Hospital in D.C.  He is concerned that he may have a metabolic/genetic disorder that is causing this.

This kid is still all smiles, even through all of the poking and prodding that he has gone through!!

I would take it away and give it to myself if I could.

It's killing me not knowing what is going on in his little body.  He can't tell me if he's sore from the lactic acid build up, but I'm sure that he is.
